Summary

CVE-2000-0178 is a vulnerability affecting ServerIron switches manufactured by Foundry Networks. This issue lies in the predictable TCP/IP sequence numbers generated by these switches, enabling remote attackers to spoof or hijack sessions. An attacker can manipulate this vulnerability by intercepting and modifying data in transit, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft. The predictable sequence numbers may also allow an attacker to carry out denial-of-service attacks. Foundry Networks released a patch to address this vulnerability, and administrators are encouraged to apply it promptly to secure their networks.
