Summary
CVE-2000-0107 is a vulnerability affecting the Linux apcd (Automounter daemon) program. Attackers with local access can exploit this issue by creating a symlink (symbolic link) to manipulate files arbitrarily. This poses a significant security risk, as unauthorized modification of critical system files could lead to serious consequences. The attacker needs only local access to the system, making this vulnerability particularly dangerous for unsecured Linux installations. System administrators are advised to patch or upgrade their apcd software as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
