Summary
CVE-2000-0009 is a vulnerability affecting the bna_pass program in Optivity NETarchitect. This issue allows local users to execute arbitrary commands by manipulating the PATH environmental variable used by the software to locate the "rm" program. The vulnerability exists because the program does not adequately sanitize the user input when determining the location of the "rm" program. Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in significant system compromise, making it a serious concern for users of Optivity NETarchitect.
