Summary

CVE-1999-1581 is a vulnerability affecting the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent (snmp.exe) in Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 4. This issue results in a memory leak, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a large number of SNMP packets with undecodeable Object Identifiers (OIDs). The memory consumption caused by these packets can exhaust the system's resources, leading to a service outage. This vulnerability poses a potential threat to networks using the affected version of the SNMP agent.
