Summary

CVE-1999-1574 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the lex routines of the nslookup tool on AIX 4.3. Maliciously crafted long input strings can cause the application to crash and potentially execute arbitrary code due to the buffer overflow condition. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access or perform denial-of-service attacks. System administrators are advised to update their nslookup implementation or apply a patch to mitigate this risk.
