Summary
CVE-1999-1564 is a vulnerability affecting FreeBSD 3.2 and potentially other versions. This issue allows a local user to induce a denial of service condition, specifically a system panic, by making a large number of accesses to an NFS v3 mounted directory using a multitude of processes. The repeated accesses consume significant system resources, resulting in the system becoming unresponsive and unable to perform normal functions. This can lead to a significant disruption of services.
