Summary
CVE-1999-1534 denotes a buffer overflow vulnerability in two components, nlservd and rnavc, of the Knox Software Arkeia backup product. This issue permits local users to manipulate the HOME environmental variable with excessive length, resulting in an overflow of the affected buffers. Consequentially, the affected system presents an opportunity for attackers to gain root access, posing a significant security risk.
