Summary

CVE-1999-1516 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting TenFour TFS Gateway SMTP mail server version 3.2. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a MAIL FROM command with more than 128 bytes, resulting in a buffer overflow. This could lead to a mail server crash and potentially the execution of arbitrary code by the attacker. System administrators are advised to update their mail servers to patch this vulnerability and implement email filtering solutions to block malicious MAIL FROM commands.
