Summary

CVE-1999-1484 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the MSN Setup BBS 4.71.0.10 ActiveX control (setupbbs.ocx). An attacker can exploit this issue by sending malicious data to the vAddNewsServer or bIsNewsServerConfigured methods, resulting in the overflow of a buffer. Consequently, an attacker can execute arbitrary commands on the targeted system, potentially leading to significant security compromise. This vulnerability was identified in 1999 and has the potential to cause serious harm if exploited.
