Summary
CVE-1999-1459 is a vulnerability affecting versions of the BMC PATROL Agent prior to 3.2.07. An attacker can exploit this issue by creating a symbolic link to a temporary file, allowing them to gain root privileges locally. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as an attacker who successfully exploits it can gain unrestricted access to the affected system. System administrators are urged to update their BMC PATROL Agents to a secure version to mitigate this threat. Failure to do so may result in unauthorized access and potential data breaches.
