Summary

CVE-1999-1419 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the nss_nisplus.so.1 library in Solaris 2.3 and 2.4's NIS+ implementation. Maliciously crafted input data can cause the library to exceed its buffer capacity, leading to arbitrary code execution. This issue allows local users to exploit the flaw and elevate their privileges to root level access.
