Summary

CVE-1999-1408 is a local denial-of-service vulnerability affecting AIX 4.1.4 and HP-UX 10.01 and 9.05. Malicious users can exploit this flaw by connecting to a socket on localhost, performing a shutdown to clear it, and subsequently connecting to a different socket on the same localhost. This sequence of actions results in a system crash and service disruption.
