Summary

CVE-1999-1355 is a vulnerability affecting the BMC Patrol component when used in conjunction with Compaq Insight Management Agent 4.23 and earlier, or Management Agents for Servers 4.40 and earlier. This issue results in the creation of a PFCUser account with a default password and elevated privileges, posing a significant security risk. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to the system and potentially cause harm. Organizations using these versions of BMC Patrol and management agents are advised to apply the necessary patches to mitigate this risk.
