Summary
CVE-1999-1328 is a vulnerability affecting the linuxconf software before version 1.11.r11-rh3 on Red Hat Linux 5.1. This issue permits local users to manipulate symbolic links, leading to arbitrary file overwriting and potential root access. By creating a maliciously crafted symbolic link, an attacker can write to protected files, including critical system configuration files, resulting in unintended modifications or even system compromise.
