Summary

CVE-1999-1241 is a vulnerability affecting Internet Explorer when security settings are set below Medium. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by creating a malicious web page that makes use of the FileSystemObject ActiveX object. By successfully executing this attack, the attacker is granted the ability to run arbitrary commands on the target system. This poses a significant security risk, as users who do not have their security settings at the recommended level are vulnerable to remote code execution attacks.
