Summary

CVE-1999-1224 is a vulnerability affecting IMAP 4.1 Beta and possibly other versions of the IMAP server (imapd). The issue arises from the server's inability to handle the SIGABRT (abort) signal properly. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by executing specific sequences of commands, leading to a server crash. The crash results in a core dump, which may include sensitive password information that can be accessed by local users.
