Summary

CVE-1999-1201 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Windows 95 and Windows 98 systems. When multiple TCP/IP stacks are bound to the same MAC address, attackers can exploit this issue by sending a specific ICMP echo packet. As a result, all stacks respond with ping messages, leading to a traffic amplification effect and causing a denial-of-service condition. This vulnerability, also known as TCP Chorusing, can be exploited remotely.
