Summary
CVE-1999-1189 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.7 on Windows 95 and Windows 98. By providing a URL with a long argument after the "?" character, remote attackers can trigger the buffer overflow, leading to a denial of service. Moreover, attackers may potentially execute arbitrary commands. This issue was discovered in files with extensions .asp, .cgi, .html, and .pl.
