Summary
CVE-1999-1131 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the OSF Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) security demon (secd) in IRIX 6.4 and earlier versions. An attacker can exploit this flaw by supplying excessively long principals, groups, or organizations during authentication, causing a denial of service condition. The vulnerability occurs due to insufficient bounds checking, enabling potential abuse and potential system instability.
