Summary

CVE-1999-1129 is a vulnerability affecting Cisco Catalyst 2900 Virtual LAN (VLAN) switches. This issue allows remote attackers to inject 802.1q frames into another VLAN by manipulating the VLAN identifier in the trunking tag. This can potentially lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information or unintended network disruptions within the affected network. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by deceiving switches into forwarding traffic between VLANs, bypassing security measures intended to isolate them. Network administrators should patch their systems as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
