Summary
CVE-1999-1105 is a vulnerability affecting Windows 95 systems. When Remote Administration and File Sharing for NetWare Networks is enabled, an administrator logging in remotely inadvertently creates an open share named C$. This allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized access to read arbitrary files by mapping the network drive as if they were local. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to confidential data and can be exploited through network connections. Organizations and individuals using the mentioned Windows 95 configuration are recommended to disable Remote Administration and File Sharing for NetWare Networks or apply the relevant Microsoft patch to mitigate this threat.
