Summary
CVE-1999-1082 is a directory traversal vulnerability affecting Jana proxy web server version 1.40. An attacker can exploit this issue by manipulating modified dot-dot ("..") notation in a request, allowing them to read arbitrary files on the targeted system. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as an attacker could gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended that users upgrade to a patched version of the Jana proxy web server.
