Summary
CVE-1999-1040 is a vulnerability affecting NetWare Client 1.0 on IRIX 6.3 and 6.4. The issue lies in two utilities, ipxchk and ipxlink, where a local user can manipulate an IFS (Internet File System) environmental variable to gain unauthorized root access.
