Summary

CVE-1999-0834 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the RSAREF2 library's encryption and decryption functions in RSAREF. This issue arises due to an incorrect handling of input data, leading to excess data being written to a buffer. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by supplying specially crafted data to trigger the buffer overflow, potentially leading to code injection or memory corruption. This flaw posed a serious risk to systems utilizing the RSAREF library for data encryption and decryption prior to the release of a patch.
