Summary

CVE-1999-0810 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Samba NETBIOS name service daemon (nmbd). An attacker can exploit this weakness by sending maliciously crafted packets to the targeted system, causing nmbd to crash or consume excessive resources. The result is a denial of service, preventing legitimate users from accessing the affected network service. This issue was discovered in 1999 and represents an early example of vulnerabilities that could cause denial-of-service attacks in network services.
