Summary

CVE-1999-0740 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Linux in.telnetd telnet daemon. Malicious users can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted TERM environmental variable to the daemon. The vulnerability results in the daemon consuming excessive resources, leading to a denial-of-service condition.
