Summary
CVE-1999-0420 is a vulnerability affecting the umapfs file system. This issue grants local users the ability to elevate their privileges to root level by manipulating the umap program for mounting filesystems. By executing a malicious mount_umap command, an attacker can exploit this flaw to alter their user ID, thereby gaining unrestricted access to the system.
