Summary

CVE-1999-0414 is a vulnerability affecting Linux operating systems prior to version 2.0.36. This issue allows remote attackers to manipulate TCP connections, enabling them to pass data to the application layer before the connection is fully established. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to execute unauthorized commands or gain unauthorized access to sensitive information. The lack of proper connection validation in the Linux kernel leads to this security weakness. To mitigate this risk, it is recommended that affected systems be updated to a patched version as soon as possible.
