Summary
CVE-1999-0288 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the WINS (Winsock Internet Name Service) server in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 4. Malicious actors can cause process termination by sending invalid UDP frames to the NETBIOS Name Service on port 137. This can result in a denial-of-service condition, disrupting network services. The issue is resolved in Windows NT 4.0 SP4.
