Summary

CVE-1999-0258 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting various networked applications. Maliciously crafted IP packets, known as Bonk variations of teardrop fragmentation, can cause these applications to crash or become unresponsive. The vulnerability arises due to improper handling of IP fragmentation, leading to a buffer overflow condition. Attackers can exploit this issue to flood targeted systems with invalid packets, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.
