Summary

CVE-1999-0178 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the win-c-sample program (win-c-sample.exe) in the WebSite web server version 1.1e. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a query string that exceeds the intended buffer size. The excess data may be written over adjacent memory locations, allowing the attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely.
