Summary

CVE-1999-0098 is a buffer overflow vulnerability discovered in the SMTP HELO command of Sendmail. An attacker can exploit this weakness by sending specially crafted HELO commands, causing the buffer to overflow and potentially hiding their malicious activities from view. This issue poses a serious risk for email servers running Sendmail, allowing an attacker to evade detection during unauthorized access attempts.
