Summary

CVE-1999-0079 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting FTP (File Transfer Protocol) servers. Malicious actors can exploit this issue by sending multiple PASV (Passive Mode) commands, leading the server to exhaust its available ports. Consequently, the FTP server becomes unresponsive and unable to process regular user requests, resulting in a denial of service. This vulnerability can cause significant disruption to FTP services if not properly mitigated.
