Summary

CVE-1999-0035 is a vulnerability affecting the ftpd (File Transfer Protocol daemon) software. This issue involves a race condition in the signal handling routine, allowing attackers to read and write arbitrary files on the affected system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or even take control of the system. This vulnerability was identified back in 1999 and remains a significant threat to systems running outdated versions of ftpd. It is highly recommended that administrators upgrade to the latest version of the software or disable the FTP service altogether if it is not in use.
